Skin cell response to UV light was tested before and after a two-week grape consumption period.

After two weeks of grape consumption, it took longer and required 78% more UV exposure to cause sunburn compared to those on a grape-free diet. Skin biopsies revealed reduced DNA damage, fewer skin cell deaths, and a decrease in inflammatory markers that could contribute to skin cancer.

Researchers believe this effect is significant, especially considering that one in five Americans is expected to develop skin cancer in their lifetime.
